Just the beginning
On April 3rd - I received
a text from my oldest sister to all her 6 sisters reminding us to go in for our
well women’s check.
April 5th – I went in for my
mammogram at AZ Tech Radiology.
During my appointment, I was told that I had a mass that I should have
looked at by additional medical professionals. I was taken in for additional testing in the ultrasound room and the ultrasound tech and assistant spent a long time taking images of my lower right breast in the 4 o clock postition. I was sent home after and told that my Dr. would contact me in a couple of days to go over the mammogram and ultrasound report.
April 11th – I received a
call from my OB/GYN that the mass that was found on my mammogram should be
removed.
April 18th – I met with PA Betsie Smiley at the Undiagnosed Breast Clinic at MD Anderson. At this appointment, I was told that the mass
I had was termed a spiculated mass and highly suspicious of cancer. It was suggested that an ultrasound guided
biopsy was performed to find out what the mass really was.
